CHHD IT proudly hosts a Technology Support Center (TSC) available exclusively for the faculty and staff of the Colleges of Health and Human Development and Education. The TSC is conveniently located in the basement of the Education Classroom building, in EC 043. Back to TopWhat resources are in the TSC? Workstations:
Printing: A color laser printer is provided that prints high quality color documents at 16 black and white pages per minute and 16 color pages per minute. Video Capture and Editing: The TSC has a video capturing device which lets users capture a video/DVD to one of the workstations. The video can then be edited using Roxio Suite 9 software. The resulting video can then be burned to a DVD. To use this feature, please contact Darren Ridgeway at x5484 for training. Internet/ CSUF Network Resources: Internet connection is available in the TSC. Users can use a web-based email system to send a scanned document to their own inbox. How To Log On Workstation 1: A User’s Manual folder can be found in TSC and the information for logging on to both workstations can be found inside. Please use the default username on the screen (which should be hdcsdean) to login to both workstations to ensure full access to software. DO NOT LOG ON AS YOURSELF, if you log on as YOURSELF with your own username and account, you may not have access to the resources. How to use the Color Laser Printer When in a document or application e.g. MS Word, simply click on the Print Icon as shown below: ![]() You will see the following print options window: ![]() Choose the Print options such as number of copies etc. and click on OK to print the document. Back to Top How to check campus Email You may click on the "Check Campus Email" icon located on all workstations at the Technology Support Center, or simply visit the campus email page at http://email.fullerton.edu: ![]() You will then be asked to enter your username and your password, which is exactly the same as you enter to view your OUTLOOK Email or Campus Email. Click OK when finished: ![]() You should now see your email window just as you can see it on your campus computer. *Please note that since you are accessing the email remotely, some of your folders that reside on your campus computer may not be visible. Back to Top Scanning and converting documents into Word or PDF format with the Canon color document scanner View instructions for scanning documents and converting them into Word or Portable Document Format (PDF) files. Back to Top Xerox Scanning Various departments in these colleges have been provided with the Xerox Document Center that features the capability to scan documents through the Xerox machine onto your desktop. (*Requires software installation on your desktop computer and generation of a user account on the Xerox machine.) You may use the Xerox machine at EC 321 to scan documents to the Technology Support Center workstations. Please view the help page for Scanning with the Xerox Document Center. Follow these steps: Step 1: Open MS Word just as you would in any other computer, by going to START > PROGRAMS > MICROSOFT WORD ![]() Step 2: Open the document you wish to convert. When finished click on the "Convert to Adobe PDF" button located at the top left hand of your window: ![]() Step 3: The following window should appear, and here you can name the document. *Notice that the "Save as type" has PDF files selected showing that the document is being saved as a PDF file.
