EC Lab Upgrades Available Fall, 2007Camtasia and Snag-IT, popular multipmedia-editing tools, were installed in EC-31. Camtasia records all interactions on the user's screen to create training or presentation videos. Snag-IT captures a picture of the user's screen which can be used in many applications. EC-66 also received Camtasia, in addition to Second Life, gateway to the online virtual world of the same name. New Canon Video Visualizers were installed in EC-66 and EC-125. The Visualizer is a document camera that captures and projects images of paper-based documents or 3-D objects. The accessibility station in EC-125 now has Shark (Shorthand-Aided Rapid Keyboarding). Shark reads the shapes created by a user tracing lines from one letter to the next on a keyboard displayed on the monitor. An online demonstration of Shark is available from IBM.
